Internet users brand a Malaysian restaurant's serving of papad as "Asian nachos" as "culinary crime"

A restaurant in Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur has gained notoriety on social media for presenting papad as "Asian nachos" and receiving criticism from internet users. A photo of the menu for the eatery Snitch By The Thieves, which includes a page for "Asian nachos," is going viral and receiving a ton of internet jeers for being a "culinary crime."


After Samantha published the image of the menu on her Twitter account with the remark "A culinary crime has been committed," the image quickly gained popularity.

The image gone viral depicts a dish covered with "papad" with a dip on the side. It said "Asian nachos" on the menu. The dish's use of papadam, avocado, tamarind salsa, and crispy shallots was also mentioned.

Since the photo was published, the post has received roughly 10K likes and over 586K views. The "Asian Nachos" cost 25 Malaysian ringgits, or around Rs 500, according to the restaurant's website.
