UP STATE

According to the UP government, Microsoft would invest $1,800 billion and create 3000 jobs in the Noida-Yamuna Expressway Belt

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, major IT companies, manufacturers of telecom equipment, and suppliers of data centers are making significant investments along the state’s Noida-Yamuna Expressway (YXP) belt. Real estate tycoons are also showing an interest in this area, which has the potential to develop into a digital centre with a promising future.

According to Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, “We expect investments to accelerate as work on the Jewar airport progresses toward completion.”

Although Jewar Airport is not yet operational, large IT corporations, telecom equipment makers, and data center operators have already shown a strong interest in investing in its continuing development.

The neighborhood is already home to well-known IT companies like HCL, IT Mahindra, and Microsoft, according to the reports. The size of Microsoft’s India Development Center is 1.5 lakh square feet, and a sizable 6.45 lakh square feet data center is planned. Approximately 1,800 crore worth of this investment is planned to generate 3,000 new employment.

The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and YXP corridor are becoming hubs for IT giants, increasing demand for office and leisure space. To satisfy this expanding demand, local businesspeople like Ajay Chaudhary, Chairman of the Ace Group, are apparently developing additional complexes. In addition, the area wants to develop an ecosystem for high-tech manufacturing, such that of medical devices, which may benefit from already established factories for electrical and electronic parts.

Additionally, this corridor is being considered by financial organizations looking to set up IT centers. According to Vinay Arora, Senior Director and Head of Site activities for Gurgaon and Noida at S&P Global India, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and YXP have become important locations for S&P Global’s activities in India due to the city’s huge increase in staff headcount, from 50 to over 1,400.
