CM Yogi Adityanath Issues Statement on the Cancellation of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam for 2024

The UP Constable Civil Police Direct Recruitment Examination 2023, which was held at 2,385 locations in all 75 districts of the state on February 17 and 18, has been canceled. Following the discovery of claims of a paper leak, the Uttar Pradesh administration, headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, made a major statement on Saturday announcing the cancellation of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination-2023.

As a result, orders have been given to set up a reexamination for the next half-year. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted on Saturday, “UP Police constable civil police exams 2023 cancelled, orders given to re-conduct the exams within next 6 months,” after sharing a message on X, the former Twitter platform. He went on to say that anybody found responsible in the supposed document leak will face severe consequences.

“@Uppolice Orders have been issued to reschedule the 2023 test for Reserve Civil Police jobs and to take it again in the following six months. The integrity of exams cannot be compromised. Under no circumstances will those who toy with the labor of the young be spared. He tweeted, “Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements.”

Exam for UP Police Constable Recruitment in 2024: #UPP_Paper_Leak Following the discovery of the document leak, about 60k positions were canceled.
The state government planned to hire 60,244 police constables as part of “Mission Rozgar” in order to bolster the police force. Exams for these positions were conducted in 2385 locations on February 17 and 18. Reports of the UP Police constable test paper leak went widespread on many social media platforms shortly after the two-day recruitment exam ended.

Aspirants and other test takers expressed their dismay by tagging CM Yogi Adityanath and the official Twitter account of the Office of Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, with the hashtag #UPP_Paper_Leak. Candidates said in postings on X that the second shift of the recruiting test, which was held on February 17 and 18, had been leaked. The board, however, disregarded the information on the leak of the UP Police constable test paper.

Over 6 lakh applicants from states other than Uttar Pradesh have reportedly applied, including 2,67,305 from Bihar, 74,769 from Haryana, 17,112 from Jharkhand, 98,400 from Madhya Pradesh, 42,259 from Delhi, 97,277 from Rajasthan, 14,627 from Uttarakhand, 5,512 from West Bengal, 3,151 from Maharashtra, and 3,404 from Punjab, according to the report by news agency ANI.

Students who were requesting a re-examination were seen rejoicing shortly after the word that the exam would be canceled. An internal committee was established by the UP police recruitment and promotion board earlier on Monday to look into the claims of paper leaks and widely shared question and answer sheets on social media.

“I thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for meeting our request. We’ll demonstrate to them that the young is with them in the next two months.Our lives have been saved by them. An aspirant told news outlet ANI that “candidates were dying by suicide.”

ARO and UPPSC Paper Leak 2024: A Significant Update
Not in the paper but at the government level, the UP government has also issued an order to look into the claimed anomalies and rigging in the examination of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO). “Until February 27th, candidates may file complaints at @[email protected]. Prior to this, the order said that the Police recruiting Board is looking into allegations of test tampering related to the constable recruiting process.
