The state government has ordered a probe into the allegation against one IAS and two IPS officers. These include the then DM of Gaya, Abhishek Kumar Singh, the then IG Amit Lodha and the then SP Aditya Kumar. All three are accused of misusing the position during their posting in Gaya and rigging at some level. After examining all the aspects, prima facie the allegations were found to be true. After this, a recommendation was sent to the government from the level of General Administration Department and Home Department to get the final permission to take action by framing these officers.

After receiving the order at the final level, the process related to it has been started. Now this case can also be transferred to Economic Offenses Unit or Special Monitoring Unit (SVU) to take action against the charges against them. Presently, IAS officer Abhishek Kumar Singh has returned to his native cadre Tripura in February 2022. He took over in Gaya in January, 2018 and was DM there for about three years. During his tenure, there were cases of illegal felling of trees in large numbers in the forest areas here. In this, no concrete action was taken for prevention from their level. Its report was also submitted to the government from the level of the forest department.

At the same time, there was a fierce fight between the then IG and SP over the supremacy of the post. There was a fierce tussle between the two officers regarding the removal and protection of the accused in-charge in the police stations of the city. The matter increased so much that in the end the police headquarters had to intervene and both were called to the headquarters and kept as waiting for posting for a few days. Then the government posted them a few days ago at different places in the headquarters. But, after the allegations were found to be true, this departmental action has been taken against them. Apart from this, there have also been allegations of nexus with sand and illegal liquor smugglers.

The state government has issued an order to prosecute Robert L. Chongthu, the principal secretary to the governor. In an old case, the level of the Law Department has been given permission to sue them after finding this matter above. When Robert L Chongthu was the DM in Saharsa around 2003, a weapon license was issued to a person there at that time. But, there is no true trace of this licensed person. That is, his name, address and identity were not correct. This arms license was issued without getting these facts checked. Later on the complaint was investigated, then the whole reality came to the fore.
