Army Chief MM Narwane reached Jammu, reviewed the preparedness of the troops posted at the border

Jammu. Army Chief General Lt Gen Dwivedi briefed General Narwane regarding operational preparedness, security infrastructure upgradation and internal security matters. MM Narwane on Monday visited the forward areas near the International Border (IB) and reviewed the preparedness and security situation of the troops deployed in the Jammu-Pathankot region. This information was given by a defense spokesman. He visited areas under the command of Rising Star Corps including Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Pathankot to review the security situation. The spokesman said that the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Command, Lt. Gen. RP Singh, GCO Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi of Rising Star Corps, GOC Tiger Division Major General VB Nair and Air Officer Commanding (AOC) of Airforce Station Jammu, Air Commodore A.S. Pathania received the Army Chief.  

The spokesman said that the Army Chief reviewed the operational preparations in the forward areas with the GOC Tiger Division. During this time he interacted with various officers and jawans. The army chief also emphasized the policy of not tolerating ceasefire violations by Pakistan and infiltration attempts by terrorists. He emphasized that the forces and all the agencies of the government are working tirelessly together and will continue to do so to thwart the nefarious designs of proxy war being waged by the enemies. The Army Chief addressed the officers of the Western Command through a video conference and praised the morale of the soldiers. He expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Indian Army to thwart any daring and to deal with any situation by the enemies of the country.
