Security forces arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) militant on Sunday evening from Tral area of Pulwama district of South Kashmir. Police said that on the basis of information, OGW Muzamil Ahmed Bhat was arrested from Laroo Jagir. He works at a toll post in Avantipora. A hand grenade was recovered from his possession. Investigation has been started by filing a case.
Major General Sahi said the Ceasefire Agreement is a positive step in the right direction. He said that when there is peace on the border, we will concentrate on the other side. The situation is under control in North Kashmir. There are about 65 terrorists active here. Due to less snow at the LoC, the activities of the soldiers have been increased in that area.
General Sahi further said, all activities like infiltration or sending weapons from across the border should be stopped. It is expected that the results of the agreement will be seen on the ground. The ceasefire breach is basically to help the terrorists cross the border. There are about 210 to 215 terrorists active in Ghati at this time. About 140 South and 60-65 terrorists are present in North Kashmir. There are about 20 locals and other foreigners among the militants active in North Kashmir.
