Mohsin Ahmad is charged by the NIA with propagandizing and funding ISIS

In the NIA Special Court at Patiala House Court, the National Investigation Agency on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against accused ISIS member Mohsin Ahmad. On June 25, 2022, the federal agency suo-motu filed the lawsuit for spreading ISIS ideology and soliciting funding for the group.

The federal anti-terror agency said that it was "discovered through investigations that the accused, Mohammad Mohsin Ahmad, collected monies for ISIS and delivered these funds to his Syria-based ISIS handlers using Crypto currency channels."

The Indian Penal Code's Sections 120B and 204, as well as Sections 17, 18, 39, and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, all apply to the accused.

The NIA said in a news statement that investigations showed that the accused Mohammed Mohsin Ahmad collaborated with an ISIS handler and others to spread the ISIS ideology with the ultimate goal of radicalizing Indian youth and recruiting them for ISIS.

It said, "He was also active in soliciting money for ISIS from ISIS supporters in India and transmitting the gathered monies to his Syria-based ISIS handlers using Crypto-currency channels, therefore assisting ISIS in advancing its terrorist actions.

"Ahmad is a radicalized and involved ISIS member. He was detained for his role in the solicitation of donations from ISIS supporters both within and outside of India "NIA has said.

The federal investigation agency searched 13 individuals' homes in six different states in July of last year in connection with ISIS-related operations. Six states, including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, were the target of the raids.

The organization carried out searches in the following districts: Bhopal and Raisen in Madhya Pradesh; Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, and Ahmedabad in Gujarat; Araria in Bihar; Bhatkal and Tumkur City in Karnataka; Kolhapur and Nanded in Maharashtra; and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh.
